Bitcoin Everlight Developer Update #3 Is Now Live (Native Bitcoin Rewards & the Everlight App Control Plane)
Native Bitcoin Rewards & the Everlight App Control Plane
Bitcoin Everlight has released Developer Update #3, marking a major protocol milestone: node operators are now rewarded using native Bitcoin (BTC), distributed through a deterministic reward pipeline and executed directly on the Bitcoin network.
This update also introduces the Bitcoin Everlight App, a unified control plane designed to manage node identity, reward visibility, and payout verification with full transparency.
What This Update Introduces
Native Bitcoin (BTC) Rewards
Unlike systems that rely on wrapped BTC, synthetic assets, or bridge-dependent representations, Bitcoin Everlight now distributes rewards in native Bitcoin. Node operators are paid real BTC with payouts verifiable directly on Bitcoin L1.
Deterministic Reward Execution
Reward allocation is calculated using a deterministic and auditable entitlement system based on node uptime, task execution, latency, and error penalties. Each epoch is finalized before any Bitcoin transaction is constructed.
Bitcoin Treasury & Transaction Engine
A dedicated BTC treasury and transaction orchestration layer manages UTXO selection, batching, signing, and safe broadcast to the Bitcoin network with multiple safeguards against double payouts or ledger mismatches.
The Bitcoin Everlight App
The Everlight App serves as the authoritative interface for node registration, BTC payout address binding, reward history tracking, and epoch-level transparency.
Why This Matters
Bitcoin Everlight intentionally avoids pretending Bitcoin is a programmable smart-contract chain. By executing rewards using native BTC and keeping logic off-chain and auditable, the protocol eliminates bridge risk and custodial abstractions while aligning node incentives directly with Bitcoin itself.
